Lynchburg may be known worldwide as the home of Jack Daniel’s, but the Lynchburg Cake and Candy Company is also garnering some national recognition.

Located in the backyard of owner Bill Thomas’ home, the business opened in 2003 after Thomas perfected his family’s 135-year-old Lynchburg Whiskey Cake recipe. It has since expanded to the creation of Whiskey Balls, Whiskey Praline Pecans and Old Fashioned Jam Cakes.

The confectionery’s decadent creations have been featured on The View, Food Network and in Paula Deen’s son’s book Road Tasted. Visitors can take free tours, and goods can be ordered through their website, lynchburgcakeandcandy.com.
