It may not be the “Grand Ole” one, but you can get the Opry experience in East Tennessee.

Home to artists such as Roy Acuff, Chet Atkins, Kenny Chesney, Carl Smith and Lois Johnson, the Union County Opry provides a place to enjoy bluegrass, country, gospel and comedy acts once a month in Maynardville. The Opry hosts both local artists and touring professionals at its bluegrass and country concert series. Monthly shows take place on Saturdays in the Union County High School auditorium, which seats over 1,200 people.

With the support of the community and visitors, the Opry hopes to open a theater complex with a museum, a dining area and broadcasting capabilities.
