Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in fine Irish style this year with a day trip to Erin, Tenn., and its annual Wearin’ of the Green Irish Day Celebration on March 16, 2019.
If there’s even an ounce of Irish blood in your body, you’ll have plenty of kinfolk in the crowd – virtually 100 percent of Erin (population 1,500) shows up for the celebration of Irish heritage.
Among the events at are beauty pageants, re-enactors, a demolition derby, power wheels competition, parades and more. The Dodson Brown Band and more are providing entertainment.
This year’s celebration promises to make the city swell to more than 10,000 – you can bet Paddy’s farm on it! For more information and a schedule of events, contact the Houston County Area Chamber at 931-289-5100. Erin is 75 miles northwest of Nashville on State Route 49.
