Summer means sunshine and road trips, and a new exhibit at the West Tennessee Solar Farm, located on Interstate 40 about 50 miles east of Memphis, combines both.

The state’s newest welcome center in Haywood County is surrounded by one of the largest solar energy facilities in the Southeast, a 25-acre, five-megawatt solar farm, overseen by the University of Tennessee. It also features the interactive SPECTRUM exhibit, which showcases the innovations and opportunities solar brings to Tennessee, and how it powers lights, classrooms, businesses and beyond – making it a fascinating stop for families making their way across the state.

Visit SPECTRUM in the Interstate 40 Solar Farm Information and Welcome Center at 1900 Albright Road in Stanton. To schedule a tour of the solar farm, visit solarfarm.tennessee.edu.
