Founded on Dec. 1, 1869, Johnson City will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its establishment this year with a community-wide birthday party. Festivities will include a variety of interactive activities highlighting Johnson City history, the sealing of the city’s 2019 time capsule and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the History Circle, the first phase of the Sesquicentennial Legacy Project.

The celebration takes place at King Commons on Sunday, Dec. 1, from 1 to 4 p.m.
