New Year’s Day First Hike & Feast – Jan. 1, Silver Point (pictured)
Start the new year off right by joining Friends of Edgar Evins State Park and hiking the 2.5-mile Millennium Trail. Attendees will bring a picnic lunch to the 10 a.m. meetup, and return to the shelters to eat and enjoy a warm beverage. Tennessee Sandhill Crane Viewing Festival – Jan. 13-14, Birchwood
A celebration of the thousands of Sandhill Cranes that migrate through or spend the winter at the confluence of the Hiwassee and Tennessee Rivers near Birchwood. Festival activities will be held at the Birchwood Elementary School, the Hiwassee Refuge, the Cherokee Removal Memorial Park and the Rhea County Welcome Center. CONTACT: tn.gov

      Hi Debra,

      The photo contest launches with our spring issue, which publishes mid-February. An entry form is included in the issue, and an online form will also be posted at that time. Entries must be submitted by July 31, 2016. Hope this helps!
