Bristol Motor Speedway, holiday lights

Bristol Motor Speedway may not seem like the place to get in the holiday spirit, but don’t be fooled. Every holiday season, the racetrack transforms into the Speedway In Lights, a dazzling light show featuring more than 1.5 million lights and nearly 200 winter displays.

Now in its twelfth season, Speedway In Lights offers visitors the opportunity to take a festive drive around the lighted track and visit Christmas Village on the infield, where they can browse holiday crafts, pose for photos with Santa, roast marshmallows and enjoy hot chocolate.

Favorite animated displays include an attraction of flying snowballs that build a huge snowman upon impact with the ground and the Dinosaur Village with an erupting volcano and six dinosaurs. Visitors can also enjoy seeing an animated cannon shot, poinsettia wreath and candelabra.
