Every Tuesday, you’ll find Pamela Stoutt helping the homeless community in Knoxville’s Krutch Park. With assistance from her mother and a group of friends, Stoutt, who serves as Knox County Farm Bureau Women’s Chair, has been providing food and any other necessities for the past seven years.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the number they served grew from 75 to 100 to more than 150 in need. When the park temporarily closed, Stoutt began serving them out of her vehicle.

For her actions, Stoutt was named a Hometown Hero by Knoxville’s WATE 6 On Your Side news station.

“They’re just people like you and me who want to be heard and who were dealt a hand they didn’t know how to deal with,” she told the network.
