The Smoky Mountain Quilters of Tennessee 40th Annual Show & Competition will feature more than 200 quilts on display at this family-friendly event. On Friday, Merikay Waldvogel, 2009 Quilters Hall of Fame inductee, will present antique quilt bed-turning at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. On Saturday, Teddy Pruett, quilt artist and historian, will present a special exhibit and lectures on the differences between quilts of the North and South at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Shop some 20 vendors and a boutique of unique items handcrafted by guild members. The event also includes a scavenger hunt for the little ones. Quilt appraisals by appointment are also available.

Admission: $7 for a one-day pass,  $10 for a two-day pass; $6 for veterans with ID; free for children under 12
