Nashville Library Seed Exchange

For Nashville novices looking to try their hand at gardening, the Nashville Public Library is making it simple. Through the library’s seed exchange, green thumbs of all skill levels can use their library cards to “check out” vegetable, herb and flower seeds at several city branches. Participating branches include the main downtown library, Bellevue, Bordeaux, Donelson, Edgehill, Edmondson Pike, Green Hills, Goodlettsville, Inglewood and Southeast Branch libraries.

After growing your plants, harvest the seeds and return them to the library for other members to enjoy. There’s a protocol in place to keep seeds healthy and protect gardens from disease, so read the guidelines before harvesting and returning seeds.

You can find the rules and more information at library.nashville.org and facebook.com/nashvillepubliclibraryseedexchange.
