When Sarah Pope acquired a barn-full of china molds once used by the historic, Erwin-based Southern Potteries – manufacturers of Blue Ridge China in the early 1900s – she was inspired to create her own line of heirloom-quality china piggybanks, reminiscent of the Blue Ridge pieces she had collected all her life.
Based on original designs by Southern Potteries’ artists, Pope’s hand-painted piggybanks are manufactured at her farm in Gray, Tennessee.
But these little piggybanks aren’t staying home. They’ve gone to market at over 2,000 stores nationwide – including exclusive shops on Rodeo Drive and Madison Avenue. Celebrity children including Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, Apple, and Courtney Cox’s daughter, Coco, have custom-made Pope’s piggybanks.
