Meet Local Artist Katie Sullivan

36 Comments By

Born and raised in Nashville, Katie Sullivan is a local artist specializing in abstract works. Inspired by abstract expressionists, Sullivan’s paintings explore spontaneity and unexpected relationships. She enjoys incorporating several mediums into her art, such as thick metallic paint, charcoal and ink to create texture and layers. Each work is titled after commonly used phrases in the hope that the painting will allow viewers to connect with those familiar idioms.

“I believe that everyone should unapologetically surround themselves with art that they love,” Sullivan says.
