Pick Tennessee Products Launches New Website
Some 2,000 farms that benefit from Pick Tennessee Products, the state department of agriculture program that helps to connect consumers with farm-made products (along with the increasingly popular farmers markets and agritourism destinations).
The program recently unveiled a new logo and redesigned website, and an app for tablets and smartphones.
“Pick Tennessee Products has really grown over the past several years due to consumers wanting to know where their food comes from and wanting to find healthy, local food,” says Pamela Bartholomew, agritourism marketing specialist for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. “It has been a great resource for almost 30 years, but now with the technology and social media getting information to consumers more quickly, people are really looking to Pick Tennessee Products as a guide for local food and local fun.”

The website has a cleaner, more focused design to showcase local foods, fun (agritourism), farmers markets, recipes and an online store.
“The mobile app is going to make it even easier for the consumer to get the farm to their home,” Bartholomew says. “If they are looking for a place to go pick blackberries, it will find blackberry farms within a 100-mile radius of their area.”
The new app launched this spring and is available in the iTunes App Store for Apple devices and Google Play for Android devices, and check out the new website to find a Tennessee farm near you at picktnproducts.org.
